Byxelkrok is located at the northern tip of Öland – Sweden´s island of sun and wind. Long hours of sunshine and refreshing sea breezes create ideal conditions for boating, swimming, watersports and outdoor activities throughout the summer.
Every summer, sunshine hours are measured across Sweden. In Klart's Sun Competition, which reports sunshine hours during 1 June-31 August, the northern tip of Öland topped the rankings in 2025 with a total of 954 sunshine hours. In SVT's Sun League, measuring seven weeks from midsummer, the northern tip of Öland achieved an impressive third place with 504 sunshine hours. This year there was no win but a place among the very best.
Visitors to Byxelkrok quickly discover why the area ranks among Sweden´s sunniest destinations. Long sunny days, bright summer evenings and refreshing sea breezes create perfect conditions for enjoying life by the sea. Now it remains to be seen whether Byxelkrok and northern Öland can regain first place in 2027.
